How to Choose the Right Rubber Cable 

1. Select cables rated for at least 20% higher voltage than your system voltage to ensure safety margin.

For current capacity, refer to conductor cross-section: e.g., 16 mm² copper conductor supports approximately 70A continuous current.

2. Choose cables with Class 5 or Class 6 stranded conductors for high flexibility.

Insulation and sheath made from NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) or EPDM improve bend radius to as low as 6x cable diameter.

3. For outdoor/marine use, cables should have a UV resistance rating of ≥500 hours (ASTM G154 test) and salt spray resistance per ISO 9227.

Oil resistance classified to standards such as IEC 60811-404, withstanding contact to mineral oils for over 1000 hours.

4. For high-temperature environments, cables rated for 90°C continuous operation and 250°C short-circuit tolerance are recommended.

In cold climates, choose cables flexible down to -40°C without cracking.

5. Abrasion resistance tested with minimum 2000 cycles (DIN EN 60512-4-2) ensures durability under rough handling.

Impact resistance of at least 10 Joules is advised for industrial sites.

6. Look for cables certified to IEC 60502-1, RoHS, CE, or UL to meet international safety and environmental standards.
